Toronto ALPHA promoted its work in Edmonton in early 2008 which resulted in the participation of Edmonton educators to the study tour and the gathering of a group of dedicated volunteers there. Their shared passion pulled them together in establishing the Edmonton ALPHA in 2009. To make use of the resources gathered for the 2010 Toronto Conference and to provide educators in province of Alberta similar learning opportunities as those in Ontario, Edmonton ALPHA will organize similar education conference one week prior to the Toronto Conference.

‘Iris Chang the Rape of Nanking’ was screened at Pier 21 of Halifax in May 2009. Afterwards, a group of volunteers in Halifax formed Halifax ALPHA sharing similar mandates of Toronto ALPHA.

Inspired by the education work of Toronto ALPHA, and dedication of ALPHA volunteers, 2 university professors in Fukuoka Japan formed Japan ALPHA in 2009 with the mandate to extend the education and public awareness of the Asian WWII history in Japan.
